Tropical Traditions Organic Gold Virgin Organic Coconut Oil - Review & Giveaway

I had never used Coconut Oil before receiving this product to review.  How had I not heard I should be using this stuff?  Coconut Oil is the oil that the Green Smoothie Girl recommends (and you all know how much I love the Green Smoothie Girl!)  It has so many health benefits, and what excited me was all the different things you can use it for!  I am so glad Tropical Traditions gave me the opportunity to review this product!  My daughter has had cracked dry hands for about a month now and no matter how much lotion I put on there isn't much difference - I read about trying Coconut Oil, well it worked wonders (not to mention how wonderful the house smells when I use this on anything!)

I didn't cook a ton with this in the week since I received it but I can tell you I will never cook my stir fry veggies in vegetable oil again.  In fact I am not sure if I will every buy vegetable oil again!  My veggies were so delicious after cooking them in the coconut oil (which is TONS healthier than vegetable oil) that I didn't even need to add butter, etc.

My favorite use in the kitchen for the coconut oil has definitely been adding it to my Green Smoothies!  If you want to try this make sure you melt it first since Coconut Oil turns more solid until it is warmed.  The first time I added it without heating and it still tasted good but made the smoothie have quite a bit white chunks (or dots I guess) in it.  A little goes a long ways so try melting 1/2 tsp or even 1 tsp depending on how much coconut flavor you want and adding it to your smoothie - it is delicious!!  I also love how soft it can make your hair and face feel - forget spending a fortune on hair treatments or facial masks - Coconut Oil does it all!

I am not sure how great other brands of Coconut Oil are but I can tell you for sure that Tropical Traditions Organic Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is absolutely amazing!
